Once upon a time there was a princess who had to leave her palace behind due to calamitous circumstances. As she climbed over the ivy-covered walls and disappeared into the quite forest, she felt a sense of peace roll over her like a comfortable blanket. Suddenly she was free. Bird-song sounded sweeter than royal waltzes. She thought she saw the glimmer of fairies or fireflies as she fell asleep under the full moon. Pure exertion rosed her cheeks instead of powders. The princess knew she had discovered something special, so she wrapped herself in rags and buried her delicate crown under an oak tree. She called herself Tattercoats.
Tattercoats Magazine is focused on capturing this feeling of childlike wonder and whimsy. We live on the creative side of life, where things are strange and dreamy, enchanting and speculative. We love to feature unknown and rising artists spanning all mediums. When reading an issue of our magazine, you may find yourself tossed back to an earlier time where things were not necessarily simpler, but certainly more entrancing.

Enaam is an MFA student in Creative Nonfiction at the University of South Florida. She collects fairy books, snowglobes, and PC games that she never gets around to playing. When she's not ignoring her gaming blog, playing shopkeeper, or graphic designing, she writes about girl waifs and boy waifs wandering about in worlds built specifically for them to lose themselves in. Her work has appeared in publications such as Thread: A Literary Journal and Gloom Cupboard.
Her personal blog + design portfolio are currently under very heavy (aka sluggish) construction.
